"1897 meets 2020"
After tens of thousands of hours of sustainability-minded property restoration, we've learned a thing or two. The Miner's House is the culmination of that knowledge, and we're excited to share this historic renovation!
The Miners cabin, a century-old hand-hewn log home was dismantled and moved to the Green Gate property and rebuilt over the course of several years. Today, this historic structure is a mix of log construction, custom metalwork, and "hand-crafted everything", wrapped in a super-insulated mining-themed exterior to create a truly breathtaking architectural experience.
An open-concept main floor provides ample space for cooking and lounging and features a large custom kitchen and slab wood dining table, log walls, large picture windows with forest views, in-floor heat, A/C, and of course a beautiful woodstove for those chilly winter days.
The upper floor includes a laundry center and two master bedrooms, complete with queen beds, vintage furnishings, circle-sawn oak flooring, vaulted lodgepole ceilings, and bathrooms adorned with custom slate tilework and hand-crafted cabinetry.
in the warmer months, guests enjoy the wrap-around porch and screen enclosure for bug-free lounging, or swinging in hammocks under the towering pines.

Miners House Reviews
“This is the most comfortable stay I have ever experienced. The large window with nature views, the fireplace, the easy access to the Mesabi Trail…every little touch made us feel special.”
“I would say this place is amazing, but that sounds so cliche and there’s nothing about the craftsmanship that feels cliche- literally every touch is a unique expression of the Green Gate vision and aesthetic.”
“I loved the rustic yet modernness of this place- so very relaxing! Lounging for hours, sipping coffee and talking was so restful”
